Podcast: Running tribes and mental toughness

There are two things I do immediately after a run:

  1. Upload the information from my TomTom watch.
  2. Text Nate.

Nate Lull and I became friends through college hockey and running and although we no longer live in the same area code, he remains a key member of my running tribe. Our paces are different. Sometimes our motivations for racing are different. Yet we still support and inspire each other because at the end of the day it’s about the experiences, not the finish time. That’s just one of the gems Nate routinely reminds me of. Check out the rest in this episode of The Accidental Athlete podcast where we discuss running tribes, how to flip your mental switch in a bad race and the value in occasionally chucking the race plan to just going for it.
