Sometimes you have the trail picked out. You have planned and prepared and are ready to go but the trail turns out to be not exactly what you visioned. What then? Look for a new trail. The signs may be easy to spot or may subtle but the trail is always there.

The Mt. Whitney hike was not what I had planned. For the good of my hiking partner we cut the hike after a mile and took a nice scenic walk from the Portal back to Lone Pine.

So the trail I was on was different than the one planned. But it matched my intention: To rekindle my love of hiking and experience a new place. Trust that the universe will bring you exactly what you need. Even if you think you want something different.
